I saw a post on r/selfhosted this week titled “Read this before you buy that TV streaming stick” and honestly, it nailed a problem that never dies. People build a glorious 12TB Jellyfin server, spend three weekends fighting Docker compose files, and then choke the whole pipeline by playing media through a $30 surveillance stick masquerading as a TV device.
